Our Curriculum

We offer CBSE curriculum with equal emphasis on Sports and Co-curricular activities.
Through inclusive curriculum, we aim to develop thinking skills, communication, interpersonal skills and inculcate correct values to create global citizens.

The Early Years Program (EYP)

Our daily activities are planned in such a manner that it fosters curiosity, builds problem solving ability and directs them to take charge of their own learning.

The research has shown that brain development is most rapid in the first eight years of a child’s life, indicating the critical importance of cognitive and socio-emotional stimulation in the early years. Children naturally take to play-based activity in the early years. Children exposed to age-appropriate, physical, educational, and social activities through play-based methods learn better and grow better.

Play is an integral part of EYP at Vistara. It is the cornerstone for multiple disciplines such as Languages, Mathematical Skills, Cognitive skills, Art, Social & Physical education. Planned play activity challenges children’s thinking and aids in overall development of the child by developing in terms of feelings, intellect and skill parameters.

Primary School curriculum

The curriculum at this stage focuses on development of capacities and skills that are necessary for gaining a systematic understanding of the world around us. These capacities are broadly – literacy, numeracy, and the abilities to hypothesize, make observations, collect data, and analyse data. Along with these scholastic capacities, engagement in arts and sports become an important part of the primary stage, as also the development of values, beliefs, and social capacities. Children are expected to attain Foundational Literacy and Numeracy by the end of Grade 3, which is part of the Preparatory Stage.

The curriculum is articulated in a way that it helps students find out their interests or choices and steer their focus towards achieving their academic goals.

Secondary School Curriculum

The aim of Secondary curriculum is all-round development of students with emphasizes integration of cocurricular domain with curricular domain in an equitable manner.

The secondary curriculum is learner-centeric with school being a place where students would be acquiring various skills; building concepts, sense of enterprise, aesthetic sensibilities and sportsmanship. Therefore, for the purpose of fostering core competencies in learners, this curriculum encompasses major learning areas, from scholastic and co scholastic domain.

Secondary Curriculum provides students a broad and balanced understanding of subjects including Languages, Mathematics, Science and Social Science to enable students to communicate effectively, analyse information, take informed decisions, construct their worldview in alignment with constitutional values and move ahead in the direction of becoming productive citizens.

The recent focus of CBSE is on the development of 21st century skills, where each student feels independent, safe and comfortable with their learning. The Board is also trying to align curriculum in a way so that children feel more connected to it and employ their learning in real life contexts. To achieve this aim, it is extremely important that children acquire adequate knowledge and skills in other core areas like Health and Physical Education, Life Skills, Values Education, Art Education, Work Education and other Co-Scholastic areas.

Community Outreach Program

Community outreach programs of the school develop deeper relationships between students and the communities they live in. It creates community connections to shape the local area and nurture goodwill.

Through focused messaging and creative learning ideas, a school outreach program has a unique ability to awaken students to community issues. Programs not only improve awareness of issues, they also inspire skill development to address those issues. School outreach programs offer organizations innovative ways to reach and influence a large audience to meet the needs of the community.
